North West Kent Dog Training Club was founded in 1975 and has had many successes in training dogs from the puppy stage through to dogs competing in the obedience championships at Crufts.

The club is based in a very spacious hall at Christchurch Hall, Glebe Road, Erith.

The purpose of the club is to promote a better understanding between the dog and its owner. Through training, a greater bond of love and respect is formed, and the dog will become a welcomed and well-behaved member of society, which as we know, is vital in this day and age.

The club is busy with pet dog training classes and  competition training classes plus progress test evenings and inter-club matches. The club also holds an Open and a Limit Obedience show each year.

Since the Kennel Club introduced the Good Citizen Dog Scheme more than 1800 people have trained their dogs at the club and have passed the Bronze, Silver and Gold Good Citizen Awards.

In competitions, the club has has been extremely successful with many dogs progressing through the classes and winning rosettes and trophies week after week during the show season.
